Text Box: The Red Bee Garage Sale
Info & Tips

Sunday, August 24th from 12pm - 5pm.
Here are the details for the event, plus a few tips to help you make it a success!

How it works:
When you (the seller) sign up for the Garage Sale, you will prepay for a 4' table ($8 fee) or a 6' table ($10 fee). Seller will receive receipt booklet, name badge, and your table number. First come, first served. All products (used and unused) must be bagged in a clear bag (like a Ziplock) and/or labeled with your name and the price you are asking. Ex:
Betty Bee
Table # 4
$5.00

Set up will begin 45 minutes before the sale begins. Tables will be numbered. Tables assignments made in the order of paid reservation.

Seller will be given receipts where purchases will be written down. Store credit will only be given if the copy is turned in to the cash register at the time of purchase and paid for by the shopper.

The shopper will have the opportunity to “shop” at your area. They will set aside the intended purchases and the seller will write it down in the receipt book. (Seller holds onto the items.) The shopper will take the receipt(s) to the back classroom register and pay for the purchases. Once the purchases have been made, a runner will go to the seller's table to pick up the purchased items, for which seller will receive a STORE CREDIT.

Garage Sale will end promptly at 5pm to allow for clean up (store closes at 6pm). At close, seller will turn in receipts which will be matched with register slips to arrive at your total. You will receive your store credit at that time. Seller's store credit will be valid for 14 days from the date of the Garage Sale (March 8 – March 21, 2008). No extensions.

Tips:

1.	Neat displays and groupings are recommended. Be certain all your items are clean and dust free.
2.	Every item should be priced and easy to read. We recommend using easy to remove price tags or plain white stickers (see example above for labeling suggestion).
3.	Be sure to place breakables towards the back of tables or higher for protection against breakage.
4.	Give your buyers some freedom to look items over, but be ready to answer questions if they ask.
5.	Keep your prices simple and reasonable. Work out deals with the shopper and keep your mind open to offers. (Remember…you don’t want to lug everything back home.) Note: Garage Sale items are not returnable or exchangeable, and passholder discounts or coupons are not valid. This will be made clear to all shoppers with signs.
6.	Spread out items neatly and group them with similar items. Some people don't like to go through piles of items to find something they would like to buy. It is easier to browse through nicely laid out items.
7.	Keep a calculator on hand for adding items up.
Bee energetic, have fun, and you never know…you might make a new scrapping, knitting or beading friend!
